Sisigakgak Hamlet

The play ‘Sisigakgak Hamlet’ is about six friends in their 30s, who were members of a drama club during their college years. They come together to stage a new production to mark their reunion. They share the changes they have gone through within the last decade, and are confronted by the misunderstandings which have accumulated over time.

Sisigakgak means ‘a constant change every moment,’ and thus every person is faced with questions and doubts, just like Hamlet did.

I was in charge of photographing images for the poster. Although designing the poster was not a part of the gig, I wanted to make my own variation for the poster. I kept the layout for both iterations, and changed the image only. I tried to convey the freshness of youth, contrasting the dark themes within the play, as I feel that contemplating and thinking is a part of human nature, and that does not mean that people must remain immersed in gloom during such moments.
